1. The game is just a try of disney to get more money
2. Like i said in 1. they just wanna get more money, thats why they created this game with EXTREMELY high ammount of features that require membership. ( And kinda overpriced membership )
Why are you seeing Disney trying to get more money as a flaw, that I don't understand. What do you think Disney makes these games for? For profit of course. Every company does that. Think about it: Why waste at least 2.5 years to develop this game if you are going to make everything free? Club Penguin clearly wasn't earning well compared to 5-6 years before, so they had to switch up strategies. The game had become a meme, most of the playerbase were people who wanted to troll kids online and a very minority paid for memberships.
So what Disney did was scrap the PC and Mobile Club Penguin and make a new game only focusing on mobile devices. Because as technology grew today's young generations started using handheld devices like mobile phones or tablets, iPads, those kinda stuff. Those devices seem are far more easier to use than PCs (in their standpoint) so kids play with them. And those kids has their parents' money in their grasp. Disney took advantage of this and published Club Penguin Island where literally everything is subscription-locked. So what do the kids do now? They cry to their parents and parents desperately start throwing money to Disney. In the end, it's Disney who takes the cake and runs away with it. And that one company, my friend, will not end support on CPI in the upcoming years because they gain from it and they wasted much of their effort into it. Believe me or not, some nostalgics won't stop them from gaining money over CPI. Even if the game is terrible or not.

3. Disney did not "recreate it", the CP team did, so please stop using that illogical assumption.
The Club Penguin Team is a game development team based under Disney's supervision. And that team, let me remind you, is known as Disney Canada Inc. (Formerly Disney Online Studios Canada) NOT Club Penguin Team.

Also, see, nobody really liked old CP at late 2016-2017, no point in keeping the original if it keeps losing popularity. They had to do something to boost its popularity, and even controversy makes money.
And Like I said Club Penguin was a horrible, repetitive and boring game between 2015 and 2017 because the dev team was developing Club Penguin Island at the time, they didn't want to show effort on a game that was set to close when CPI published.
