The Alpha Shades were a face item in Club Penguin. They cost 5 Medals in the EPF Phone's Elite Gear catalog, and only members could buy them.
When PSA Secret Missions returned in June 2015, the original version of this item was replaced in Elite Gear by a new version, with the new one being free. This new version was a separate item and did not overwrite the original in players' inventories. The two versions are identical.
