- This item's appearance was changed when several new checkered shoes were released in March 2012. The Pinkwere also changed, but the unlockable Purple Checkered Shoes were not.
- The Orange Checkered Shoes had the design that would be used a base for these new checkered shoes since its release in September 2010.
- The Green Checkered Shoes used the same design in its icon as the Orange shoes since its release in March 2011, but its player card appearance matched the Black, Pink, and Purple shoes, until it too changed in March 2012.
