The Costume Trunk (also referred to as Costume Catalog since July 2016) was a catalog in Club Penguin, first released on November 16, 2007. It featured a selection of clothing items (as well as backgrounds sometimes) themed after characters from the many plays that showed at the Stage. The Costume Trunk was updated to match the play that was showing, which changed roughly every month. Since June 5, 2014, the Costume Trunk instead featured a large selection of items from all plays, regardless of which one was showing, and no longer changed monthly.
On June 4, 2015, the Stage closed, and was replaced with the Mall, and the Costume Trunk was moved to Mall.
Players with membership could buy everything in the catalog, while non-members could only backgrounds. In later years, there was a very small amount of other items that could be obtained without membership, such as the Ghost Costume and Cheap Time Travel Hat.
From November 2008 (first showing of Fairy Fables) until September 2011, most editions of the Costume Trunk had name cards next to the play characters. When the name card was hovered over, a description of the character would appear. This was absent from some plays, such as Ruby and the Ruby and the Penguins That Time Forgot. From October 2011 until January 2012, the Costume Trunk reused costumes from the five plays featured at the Penguin Play Awards 2010, in addition to the ongoing play's items.

The Costume Trunk was not available during several periods of time, usually for 1-2 weeks. This was either because the Stage was under construction, or a party was ongoing that replaced the Stage with something else, such as a police station or award show.

Trivia[]
- The Costume Trunk was physically present within the Stage, on the right wall of the room. Hovering over the trunk with the mouse would cause it to open, revealing the Viking Helmet, Cane, Pink Cowgirl Hat and some other items inside. When the catalog was moved to the Mall, the trunk was moved there as well. Hovering over it still caused it to open, but nothing was visible inside.
