m (if one bit of vague internal code which cannot be seen by players and was changed the following mission, or translations which have to use gendered-language as opposed to the original language, are "substantial evidence" then thats a bit depressing (I put this in trivia for a reason, its a peculiarity but nowhere near actual confirmation), but if theres somewhere in where this penguin is referred to as "he" then by all means!! ok thanks!)

— Dancing Penguin

The Dancing Penguin is a clumsy but friendly brown penguin who appears exclusively in some of the PSA Secret Missions, where they frequently cry due to something being broken. They like to dance (hence their nickname) and ride the Ski Lift, and own a homemade portable telescope. Interacting or getting involved with the Dancing Penguin in most of their appearances is optional, but usually rewards the player with a hint, or a gift at the end of the mission. In mission 11, the Dancing Penguin wears glasses, and cannot see after accidentally breaking them.

Involvement in missions

  • Mission 1 - Their telescope breaks, and the player must use the Spy Phone's wrench to fix it. The telescope can then be used to find out that Aunt Arctic's missing puffles are on the Tallest Mountain.
  • Mission 3 - They are dancing in the Night Club, but after the power goes out due to the Electromagnet 3000, they start crying outside. The player can optionally restore the power from the Boiler Room, which causes the penguin to reward the player with a thank-you card. In this mission, the penguin's name was revealed to be "Dancing Penguin".

Dancing Penguin crying

  • Mission 4 - They want to ride the Ski Lift, but it is broken. Once the player fixes it, they start to ride the lift. This also rewards the player with the Handy Penguin Award.
  • Mission 7 - At the Ski Village, their snowman breaks, but another penguin tells them that the highest-quality snow in Club Penguin is at the Snow Forts, which hints at where to get snow from to make the replacement Clock Tower gear.
  • Mission 11 - They break their glasses when they accidentally sit on them while waiting for the "movie" at the Ski Village to start. If the player manages to find replacement lens, fix the glasses, and give them to the penguin, the player can receive the Gift from Dot at the end of the mission.

Trivia

  • In #WaddleOn: Operation Puffle Part 1, a crying brown penguin referred to as "brown crying penguin" appears. This could be (or could be a reference to) Dancing Penguin.
  • In The Spoiler Alert, Polo Field refers to them as The Brown Crying Penguin.
  • Mission 1 is the only mission where players are required to talk to them to finish the mission.
  • Although the Dancing Penguin's gender is never mentioned, they are referred to as "tboy" (short for telescope boy) in the Mountain room code in mission 1. The male-oriented words "amigo" and "ami" are also used to address this penguin in the Portuguese, Spanish, and French translations of the Card from Dancing Penguin and Gift from Dot.
