Card-Jitsu Water was a spin-off of Card-Jitsu. This game was confirmed in a trailer posted on the What's New Blog. News of it were released in late October 2010 and in early November 2010. It was said that the great storm was leading up to its arrival. At first, only Member ninjas could play it. Non-Member ninjas could play it for the first time during the Card-Jitsu Party 2011 for a limited time. On May 9, 2013, it became permanently available for all players, ninjas or not.[2]

Gameplay[]
Penguin players moved on a grid of stone tiles that were floating down a river towards a waterfall. Towards the beginning of the river, there was a gong. The waterfall behind the gong would bring new stone tiles to replace the ones that fell down, each had a fire, water, or snow obstacle of varying size (small, medium, large).
Unlike in the previous Card-Jitsu games, penguins did not fight each other. Instead, they raced each other, jumping from tile to tile, to hit the gong before anyone else, using cards to clear the elemental obstacles in their way and/or to sabotage the other players, without falling off the edge of the waterfall.
Randomly selected cards of your deck scrolled from the left corner of the screen to the right corner of the screen, so there was a limited amount of time to play a card before it scrolled off the right edge of your screen. In order to clear a tile for your penguin to move to, you had to clear the elemental obstacle that is occupying the selected tile by playing a card of the element that defeats it (fire beats snow, snow beats water, water beats fire, like rock-paper-scissors).
Cards can be played in eight directions (horizontally, vertically, diagonally) onto a tile that is one tile away from your penguin. Cards cannot be played onto a tile that is occupied by a penguin.
If a power card was played, its effects had a longer range.
Note the number of your card before playing it on an elemental obstacle, clearing elemental obstacles by using cards with big numbers is quicker than clearing elemental obstacles by using cards with tiny numbers, because cards with big numbers are powerful enough to clear an elemental obstacle in one blow, while cards with tiny numbers are weak enough to shrink the elemental obstacle, requiring more cards to clear it. The river moves you to the waterfall automatically, so don't take too long.
If a card was played on an elemental obstacle of the same element, the elemental obstacle would grow. This strategy could be used to strengthen the elemental obstacles of the way of your opponent(s), but use it wisely, you could corner your own way up, you could distract yourself with blocking someone while someone else reaches the gong, or you could be so focused on wanting to use said strategy that you could fall off the waterfall.
A player winned the 1st place if all the other players fell down the waterfall or if he/she hits the gong, causing a big wave that takes all the other players down the waterfall. The closer the other players were to the gong right before it was hit, determined their placement (2nd, 3rd, 4th), if two players were on the same distance away from the gong right before it was hit, the player closer to the left side of the screen received the higher placement.
Rewards[]
Progress obtained by winning and losing matches (progress points are not obtained by quitting matches) was used to earn the four parts of the Water Suit for your penguin to wear. Sensei would give you the Water Gem after defeating him in a match, making you a Water Ninja. They were earned in the following order:
Trailer video[]
Just like Card-Jitsu Fire, Card-Jitsu Water has a trailer for itself. This is what the voice says:
"For those who have mastered the ancient art of Card-Jitsu, it is time for a new wave of challenges. Beyond the myth and high above the Dojo, a place of mist and mystery emerges from the clouds. From here, a new ninja journey begins. Turn the tides on your opponents with patience, practice, power. Reach the waterfall and discover a new battle. Are you ready to master the element of water?"
Sensei messages[]
If the player wore or owned a certain item or walked a certain type of puffle while opening the Sensei dialog closeup, he would make a comment. If the player met the criteria for multiple messages, only one would appear at once, selected at random. All comments were made in the form of a haiku, with the first and third lines containing five syllables each, and the second containing seven syllables.
For clothing items, if the comment was made if the player wore the item, this is denoted by "(wear)" after the name. For comments made if an item was merely owned, this is denoted by "(own)".

Real life replication (game)[]
This is a real life game, the instructions are:
- It is hard to make it move, so instead, make a race of who can get to the top fastest
- First, arrange the cards into a 5X10 to 40 formation, if it is a 3-4 players, make it 7X10 to 40.
- Have a spare pile of cards to use. If it runs out, pause game, and use the spare cards not on the grid for spare cards
- First one who races to the end of the grid wins, and this is much easier, because you don't fall off.
- A great game to speed up your math skills, and who's the fastest.
Trivia[]
- This marks the second Card-Jitsu game in the series that can be played with 2-4 players.
- During gameplay, the Dojo Courtyard can be seen in the top left of the screen, to the left of the Water Ninja fountain.
- As mentioned during the second part of Waddle Down Memory Lane, the Club Penguin Team created prototype board games in the process of development to test the concepts of Card-Jitsu Water. Board games were created for Card-Jitsu Fire too.
- Its official trailer video could be seen at the Dojo Courtyard from November 16, 2010 to May 23, 2013.
Glitches[]
- Sometimes, when joining a 4-player game, all four of the players' penguins would suddenly turn Old Blue, start bowing, then vanish into clouds before the game starts. This glitch happened to Card-Jitsu Fire too and was never fixed.
- When playing on low quality graphics, any penguins wearing the color black, appear to be Dark Black.
- After the Dojo was renovated, some penguins were not able to leave the Water Dojo, having to use their map to get out.
- Black cards with "uno" shown on them in white font often appear mixed in with the player's cards. These cards disappear when clicked, rendering them unusable.
- The text on said black cards likely reads "undefined', but only the first three letters fit on the card and the top of the 'd' is cut off.
