— Shadow Guy[1]

Shadow Guy, known to the island as Sam[2] was a fictional Super Hero that worked with Gamma Gal. He appeared in the Stage play Squidzoid vs Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal. Many penguins have taken the same super hero identity.

Costume[]

Origin[]

While interviewing Gary the Gadget Guy he was electrocuted by one of the aforementioned penguin's inventions, the Toaster 3000. Gary helped him learn to use his powers until he used them to defeat a large mutant blob of pizza dough. He was called the "Mysterious Shadow Guy" in the newspaper, thus he received his name. He later encountered Gamma Gal when attempting to defeat a giant sea monster.[2]

Powers and Abilities[]

Light and shadow manipulation[]

  • Can create a "shadow wave" – a ball or directed beam of pure shadow.
  • Can create yellow lightning bolts by combining his shadow wave with Gamma Gal's plasma glow wave.[1]
  • Shadow Guy could activate "Shadow Mode", transforming himself into a shadow and allowing him to interact with other shadows.[2]
    • While in shadow mode, Shadow Guy could also add other shadows to his own to become a larger shadow.[2]

Other[]

  • Like Gamma Gal, Shadow Guy has the ability to fly.
  • Can phase through physical objects

Disadvantages[]

  • Cannot move through bright light

Appearances[]

  • He appeared in Card Jitsu along with Gamma Gal on the "Shadow Guy & Gamma Gal" card-jitsu card.
  • He appeared on a one month Membership card along with Gamma Gal.
  • He appeared as a Mix 'N Match Figure and was sold alongside a yellow reporter and the Switchbox 3000 in series one, and alongside Gamma Gal and a cityscape flat in series nine.
    • He also appeared as a plush toy.
  • He appeared with Gamma Gal in the real book Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal: Heroes Unite!, in which their origin story was told.
  • He appeared in the Club Penguin Top Trumps with the description of "Metropenguinopolous defender"

Trivia[]

  • Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal were based on Polo Field's two eldest daughters.[3]
