A Head Item is a category of clothing. It includes items such as hats, helmets, and wigs. Head Items are the most common items in Club Penguin.
All players receive the the head item New Player Red Baseball Hat by default.

- The rarest head item is the Party Hat.
- Party Hats are special head items that are given during Anniversary Parties, and will never return.
- The EPF Earpiece is the smallest head item.

- There is a bait item, called Remove Head Item, which allows removing the current head item.
Wigs
- On October 12th, 2007, wigs made their debut. Some of the original wigs were The Sunstriker and The Beekeeper. Later in 2007, there was a vote on whether to keep the wigs or not. The vote decided that the wigs would be kept.
