Penguins playing various instruments on the Band Practice postcard
Musical instruments were a series of items in Club Penguin. Most of them were clothing items, and many had a special dance that could be performed while wearing the item, causing the wearer to play the instruments. Some instruments were part of furniture items.
Instruments were frequently featured at musical-themed parties, and were sold in the Music Catalog that first appeared at the first Music Jam. Most instrument items, when their special dance was performed on the stage in the Lighthouse, produced sound as long as they were played. A few instruments played a brief sound anywhere when dancing or waving with them, including the Whistle & Silver Whistle, Bell & Silver Bell, Cowbell, and Hand Gong.
