The octopus is a giant, purple, inflatable octopus in Club Penguin that appeared as a recurring decoration in parties in the game's earlier years, usually at summer/water-themed parties, such as the Summer Party or Water Party 2008. In March 2015, it became a permanent addition to the Lodge Attic after the room was redesigned into the "Mystery Attic". It also appeared in Club Penguin Island, where it appeared in the Underground Diner, and the Inflatable Octopus furniture was made in its likeness.
The octopus is never given a name, and is only referred to with titles such as "inflatable octopus", "purple octopus", "mythical giant octopus", etc.
Party appearances[]
- At the Dojo during the Summer Party (its first appearance), the Summer Kickoff Party, and the Water Party 2008.
- During the Halloween Party 2007 visible through the Cove Binoculars. It wore Clown Hair and carried a red lollipop for the candy scavenger hunt.
- Rockhopper saw the octopus and wrote in his journal "A few weeks ago we spotted an octopus headin' towards Club Penguin. Our brains were boggled, tryin' to figure why it'd be sportin' a wig. Must have been one hoot hollerin' Halloween party they had".
- On the Pet Shop during the Submarine Party.
- In the Ninja Hideout during the Christmas Party 2008.
- In the Coffee Shop during the 8th Anniversary Party.
Other appearances[]
- In the 2005-2006 and 2007-2008 Yearbooks.
- In two Card-Jitsu Cards, one a regular card, and one a power card. When the power card was won, the user of the card placed down a cardboard box and pulled an air pump out of it. The user would continuously pump down, rapidly inflating the octopus out of the box until it became gigantic, engulfing the opponent. The opponent would try to pull out its air holder, causing the octopus to deflate, with the opponent holding on it and being launched around.
- At the end of the book Lime Green Dojo Clean, where it can be used to clean up the mess if "pout" was chosen earlier in the story.
- In Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force: Herbert's Revenge, as an important key item in The Ultimate Mission. It is used to upgrade the Aqua Grabber 3000 so it can rebalance the island.
- At the bottom left corner of the renovated Lodge Attic.
