Between February and March 2010, Yarr, the Keeper of the Boiler Room, the Keeper of the Stage and Plok had disappeared before the launch of Puffle Rescue. The Puffles had become lost in a cavern that had been closed off due to a mudslide. As soon as this was found out, it prompted the Cave Expedition. Yarr's disappearance was announced in the Club Penguin Times. The puffles returned when Puffle Rescue had launched.

- It was rumored that Herbert had captured the Puffles.
- Rockhopper had said that Yarr disappeared after he had stopped his Ship.
- On November 14, 2013, the Keeper of the Boiler Room, the Keeper of the Stage and Plok, were reported as missing again, along with other puffles around the island and the new Black Puffle residing at the Mine.
- This event led to Operation: Puffle.
