Tour Description
These Snow Forts are fun for snowball fights. Click the snowball icon to throw one. Over there is the Club Penguin clock. It shows the time in the Club Penguin Time Zone.

The Snow Forts was a snowy area located in the center of civilization on Club Penguin Island. Here, penguins commonly participated in snowball fights, at either of the two snow forts. The Clock Tower was also located here, near the forts, and displayed Penguin Standard Time.

The Snow Forts itself was fairly busy, connecting between two major rooms, the Town and Plaza. The Ice Rink or Stadium could also be accessed from here depending on the time of year.

The Snow Forts was one of the first ideas in Club Penguin to be implemented from player suggestion, and not an original idea from the Club Penguin Team.[2][3]

History[]

The Snow Forts opened on September 12, 2005, a few weeks into the beta testing of Club Penguin. In November 2005, puffles were first spotted here. A few weeks later, on December 14, 2005, Puffle Roundup was playable from here, to gather the furry creatures. On February 24, 2006, it was moved from the Snow Forts to the Plaza (and then shortly after, the Pet Shop).

On February 23, 2007, the Clock Tower was added, along with a small sign next to it explaining PST. On April 17, 2008, the Clock Tower was broken, and displayed the time rapidly moving forward, and random "dates", tying in with PSA Mission 7: Clockwork Repairs. A week later, it was fixed. Additionally, ever since the Penguin Games ended on August 26, 2008, the Stadium could be seen in the distance whenever it was opened, as was also the case with the Ice Rink.

The room was renovated on December 6, 2012. The room received a major graphical update, although not much else changed. The two snow forts became bigger, and nearby areas; the Town, Plaza, and mountain range, were made visible.

Trivia[]

  • On the Club Penguin App, players could join either the red or blue team by standing on circled markers next to the forts. Players could then throw snowballs at either of the forts, and depending on which team the player was on, the fort would either be damaged or repaired. Not selecting a team would cause either fort to get damaged if a snowball was thrown at it. Players could change color at will, and leaving the room would remove the color. This feature was added on May 15, 2014[4] and was removed in Spring 2015.
