Where? Elite Penguin Force games

The Spy Gadget is an invention that was used Elite Penguin Force agents prior to the EPF Phone and is featured prominently in Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force and Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force: Herbert's Revenge video games. It has a variety of gadgets and features, and resembles a Nintendo DS.

In the first game, the player is given a Spy Gadget by the Director of the EPF during the second mission, Left to Your Own Devices, and more features are unlocked as the story progresses. In Herbert's Revenge, the player has one from the start of the game, and all features except for Spy Snake are available upon starting the second mission, Secret of the Fur.

Features[]

Features in red are only present in the first EPF game. Features in blue are only present in Herbert's Revenge.

  • HQ warp: Causes the player to warp to the Command Room (first game) or EPF Command Room/PSA HQ (Herbert's Revenge), if the room is currently accessible.
  • Spy Log: Displays current objectives in the mission.
  • Spy Phone: Allows the player to call other agents. Sometimes this is done as part of the mission's story, while other times it can optionally be used for hints.
  • Decoder: Causes a scanner to appear in place of the cursor. When tapping on a Tic-Tac-Toe Code in the world, it brings up an interface that displays the full code, as well as a key for Tic-Tac-Toe Code. The player can use the stylus to write on the screen to help with decoding.
  • Mechano-Duster: Unlocked during Looking for Clues (first game). Causes a duster to appear in place of the cursor. When tapping on an object covered in snow or other debris, a microgame is initiated, where the player has to dust off the object so it can be retrieved.
  • Super Power Flashlight: Unlocked during Do It Yourself Carting. Causes a flashlight to appear in place of the cursor. If the player then taps on the entrance to a dark area, they enter, with only a small amount of light. The light grows if the player circles repeatedly with the stylus, but then slowly shrinks afterward.
  • Robotomy Gadget: Unlocked during Robotomy 101. Causes a spinning gear to appear in place of the cursor. When tapping on an immobilized Test Robot or the Ultimate Proto-Bot 10000, it displays their internal systems, with three different areas of their body. When selecting an area, a maze appears, where the player must drag a battery into the slot at the end to shut off that area. Touching the walls with the battery produces electricity, and if this happens for too long, the maze must be restarted. When all three areas are shut off, the robot is deactivated.
  • Help guide: Displays a brief tutorial on the Spy Gadget functions.
  • Scissors: Causes a pair of scissors to appear in place of the cursor, which can be used to cut certain objects, usually rope or string.
  • Wrench: Causes a wrench to appear in place of the cursor, which can be used to tighten or loosen bolts. This usually activates a microgame, where the player drags the wrench to bolts, then has to rotate the wrench to tighten/loosen the bolts.
  • Comb: Causes a comb to appear in place of the cursor, which can be used to comb fur.
  • Spy Snake: Unlocked after collecting all six Snake Tokens in the PSA training missions. Can be used to play the Spy Snake game.

Trivia[]

Dot Spy Gadget

Dot with her Spy Gadget in The Veggie Villain

  • In PSA Mission 11: The Veggie Villain, after the player opens the closet in HQ, Dot appears, and she uses her Spy Gadget to teleport herself and the other agents out to the Ski Village right before the Popcorn Bomb explodes. She remarks that, despite Herbert P. Bear deactivating PSA systems, EPF technology was unaffected. This is the only appearance of the Spy Gadget outside of the EPF video games.
