  • Back in the days, there used to be a lot of 4 to 5 bars servers, some even full, now i barely see a single server full and the others at 1 or 2 bars at the most, since each server only allows 350 players, is the active playerbase so low now? appart from this, club penguin give us a event that can be considered as the worst in many time, the CP island event is just trash.

the inactivity in club penguin is more every day, i think that non members just abandoned club penguin and joined a CPPS instead (which together may have more players that original CP).

They havent released a game changer update since so many times, the last mini game was card jitsu snow and them is all the same, this game is getting stale and this is why maybe people are quitting.

      • Lack of care with little to no bug fixes and many broken features, some being broken for years
      • Updates to game come once a month, and even then they are not very big and are only to fill a quota
      • Very little interaction between staff and players, and even then its usually through vague statements
      • News on the game is few and far between
      • Frequent delays, even months, for features slated to have a defective release date
      • "Parties" have no pull to them, very barebones and often lacking in creativity
      • Moderation is quite poor due to small amount of staff, allowing troublesome bot owners to easily annoy people

      rip

    • Yes. Club Penguins popularity has been declining. Look at this interest chart here: https://www.google.ie/trends/explore?q=%2Fm%2F0dkw2l

Parties have been boring and terrible and more and more member only features keep getting added taking away much from the normal penguin. I have a wild but plausible theory that Club Penguin is closing down and Club Penguin island is replacing it as a means of re-merchandising the whole thing to start making money again. I hope I'm wrong but it could be on the cards.

That's... not as wild of a theory as you may think. Like you said, the original game's popularity has been declining and Adobe Flash is almost obsolete, so the outcome you mention seems inevitable. Although hopefully they'll keep the original game around for the fans who still want to play it every now and then.

Hopefully they will keep the original around but if it's not making profit(which it will make less of because of Club Penguin island) then Disney won't even bother maintaining it as it would be too expensive. I just hope I'm wrong.

And here lies Club Penguin due to dull parties, unfair treatment of non-members, and out of date Adobe Flash. I'm pretty sure it was dying a long time ago though.

    • As much as I love(d?) the game, I have to admit it's dead, there's little reason why to remain. Although CPIsland seems interesting, I don't know if I can get used to the fact that I need to play it VERTICALLY on an iPad, and the other fact how to get other missions you need to level up, which is excruciatingly hard. So just say goodbye right now, the game's at its lowest possible point.

    • and the CP times is just sad, almost a month without update when it used to be weekly.

We all must accept that Club Penguins fate is coming soon... this game 11 years old so is ok that it die now since is really old and you know, better games overshadow old ones over time.

the lack of activity of both CP and players clearly points that the game is going to close soon and CP island will be its successor.

    • Notice that CPI has only 5 servers (called 'worlds') rather than so many as in the original CP. I guess the CP team (or CPI team) realized that population on CP is decreasing. Mobile devices are also becoming more popular than desktops.

    • or maybe it's because it's the closed beta

    • Hi,I'm in Club Penguin for a long time with 2011.My name is in the game Hartika66,girl and I'm from Russia.I understand that CP is dying, that maybe in the future it will be replaced with the CPI.How many good memories in this game. Now suffering not only CP but also Shararam (a.k.a Roly Poly Land).Shararam is similar to CP,but differs in that it appeared in 2008, and other things, but is also based on Flash Player.Shararam is also dying, and with 2012.When I changed the policy and had replaced the cheap virtual currency (Smeshinki) at Ruby's (Rumbiki).Servers were deserted (except the Bustle),nice quests were few (similar to parties) and released once a week for each month, membership were expensive, the selection of moderation was bad, because some were "elites" and ignored players. But players leave with Shararam and ischyat alternative, including CP.

In the end I want to say that good games can also die in such a long time.Says Dark Soul24.

Wow, Club Penguin announced its closing only 5 days after your post.

      http://www.clubpenguin.com/whats-new/important-announcement-regarding-club-penguin-desktop-and-mobile-devices

The game will unfortunately close in about 2 months on March 29, 2017. It's been fun!

It's been fun. Goodbye CP. (If you didn't read one of my posts then you should know that this was LITERALLY the first thing i ever played on a electronic device.)
