The Treasure Book was a catalog-like feature in Club Penguin released on October 24, 2008, on Club Penguin's third anniversary. It could only be accessed with single-use unique codes included with real-life merchandise. In the first few years, such merchandise was typically plushes and Mix 'N Match Figures, but by 2012, codes were also included in the Club Penguin Magazine, on Membership Cards, and more. When a code from any of these was entered into the Unlock Items Online page, one series of the Treasure Book could be accessed. Additionally, in later years, some codes from various merchandise contained codes to unlock specific items; if such a code was entered when the player already owned the associated item(s), the player would be given access to the Treasure Book to redeem an item from there instead as compensation.
When accessing the Treasure Book, the player could choose a few clothing items to unlock for their account. Puffles and coins could be chosen as well. Any clothing items unlocked from the Treasure Book could be worn regardless if the player had membership or not (signified on their icon with an opened padlock inside a blue circle). While players without membership could normally only adopt blue or red puffles, any color (up to brown) could be adopted from the Treasure Book without membership.
There were a total of 21 different series of the Treasure Book. The series that was accessed originally matched the series of merchandise its code came from; a code included with a series 2 plush would provide access to series 2 of the Treasure Book. However, with the release of series 14 on October 4, 2011, all previous Treasure Book series were removed. Since then, any Treasure Book code would only provide access to whichever series was the most recent at the time, as a series would be replaced whenever a new one released. Series 21 was separate from this, and was instead only accessible with codes included on membership cards, and did not replace/get replaced by any other series.
Features[]
Clothing items[]
From series 1โ13, most pages of the Treasure Book contained "unlockable" versions of previously released clothing items. These unlockable versions could always be worn without requiring membership, even if the original version of the item was member-only. These pages did not follow a common overall. While items on the same page usually shared a theme with each other, they could be completely different from items on the next page, such as Medieval items on one page and soccer items on the next. Some items appeared in multiple different series as well. Starting with series 14, unlockable versions of previously released items were few and far between, as the Treasure Book mostly contained exclusive items instead.
Exclusives[]
Every series of the Treasure Book up to series 13 contained a page of "Exclusives" which were items that could only be unlocked from the Treasure Book at the time, although some items were later available elsewhere, mostly in the Penguin Style catalog throughout 2016. These items were often recolors of older items, although some had unique designs. Starting with series 14, most items included in the Treasure Book were exclusive to the Treasure Book, although this term stopped being used, as every page in the Treasure Book was labeled as "Exclusive Bonus Items" instead.
Super Exclusives[]
Introduced in series 6, all series since had a page of "Super Exclusives", following the Exclusives page. The first set of Super Exclusives was present in series 6โ13, and the second set was present in series 14 onward. The items on the Super Exclusives page were not accessible by default; for the first set, their page was occupied by a blue background with a big question mark, while for the second set, the page was always visible, but was tinted gray and the items could not be selected. In order to access the items, the player had to use five total Treasure Book codes from any series. This included series 1โ5, but only redemptions made after series 6 was released were counted. During the session when the fifth code was redeemed, the player could choose two extra items.
Puffles[]
Any of the first ten colors of puffle (up to brown) were included on this page. Series 1โ3 originally contained up to yellow. Series 4โ6 contained up to white. In mid-December 2009, the first three series were updated to include white as well (no update occurred to include orange in older series). Series 7โ13 contained up to orange. Series 14 onward contained up to brown. Any puffles introduced after brown were not included in the Treasure Book.
When attempting to adopt a puffle, a prompt appeared to enter a name for it, like when one was adopted from the Pet Shop. If the name was valid, the puffle would be sent to the player's igloo. If the player already had the maximum amount of adopted puffles, which varied over the years, they would not be allowed to adopt one.
Coins[]
Every series contained a page at the end where 500 coins could be selected instead of clothing or a puffle. While it could be chosen at any time, if a player already owned every clothing item in the series, and already had the maximum amount of puffles, this would be the only option that could be selected.
Previews[]

The Treasure Book preview page from the Toys section on the Club Penguin website
The Treasure Book was normally only accessible when using a code, although it could be previewed, in which case no items could be selected to be unlocked. Series 1โ13 could be previewed on the Toys page on the Club Penguin website prior to October 4, 2011. When series 14 released and the old series were removed, the Treasure Book could instead be previewed in the Clothes Shop, but only the newest series, as each new series replaced the previous one. When previewed from the Clothes Shop, the tags on items (which show names when hovered over) were removed, and buttons to access the toys or unlock pages on the website were present.
Series 21, despite neither replacing nor being replaced by another series, could have been previewed in the Clothes Shop from January 16โAugust 4, 2014. This occurred during the time series 19 was still available to unlock from, and ended when series 20 was released.
Editions[]
Full listings of the items, including where secret items are hidden, can be viewed on these pages, as well as images of the series' pages.
After series 13, the series were no longer directly labeled with numbers. However, they were still numbered in the game's internal coding, and they followed the order of the previous series, with the exception of series 21 (only accessible with codes from membership cards)โ it was released after 19 and before 20.
