The Pokémon X and Y Takeover is an upcoming party on Club Penguin. It will start on October 10, 2013 and will end on October 29, 2013. It will be on whilst the Halloween Party and the Anniversary Party are going on.

Announcements

Polo Field confirmed this party in a tweet on August 15, 2013. Polo Field wrote:

“	Lot's of people are excited for the release of Pokémon X and Y... so we teamed up with Nintendo to create the most spectacular party of 2013! Ladies and gentlemen, the Pokémon X and Y Takeover is coming soon!	”

Polo Field then posted the official name of the party on the blog. His post said

“	Hey Penguins! Wanna hear a special announcement? Well, the team at Club Penguin have always loved Nintendo! We've always enjoyed their games... but there was always one that we loved the most! Pokémon has been an outstanding series for children and adults of all ages! On January 8, an announcement of a new Pokémon game was revealed! Pokémon X and Y will be coming to your Nintendo 3DS on October 12 - but we want to celebrate! So, we teamed up with Nintendo to create a special party... the Pokémon X and Y Takeover!! There will be tons of things to do during the party! However, don't worry! If you are not a Pokémon fan, we will have a portal to the Pokémon world at the Town, so everyone can go in there! We will leave Club Penguin Island as normal for the Halloween and Anniversary Parties. We'll see ya there - and remember: You gotta catch 'em all! -Club Penguin Team	”

Trivia

• This is the first Pokémon party in Club Penguin.
• This is the first party to sponsor a video game.
• This is the first time that Club Penguin have teamed up with Nintendo.
• Calem and Serena, the male and female players of Pokémon X and Y, will appear as mascots at the party, along with Ash Ketchum - the anime protagonist. Also, Rookie will be a mascot appearing at the party as a Pokémon trainer.
• This party will go on at the same time as the Halloween Party and the Anniversary Party. There will be a portal to go to the Pokémon world in the Town, just like the Prehistoric Party 2013 - leaving the Club Penguin Island as normal for the two other parties.

Features

• You will be to capture Pokémon in the Pokémon world, and also have battles. There will be six selections: a Pokémon trainer, a Team Flare grunt, a Pokémon hunter, a gym leader, a professor, or a youngster trainer.
• You can go around cities and towns in the Pokémon world, and challenge the gym leaders. The gym leaders will be making an appearances in sprites, but will not be mascots.
• There will also be a sign saying "Champion of the day"; someone who has beaten the powerful Elite Four and challenged and beaten fifty trainers.

Activities

Everyone can:

• Receive a starter Pokémon and Pokédex.
• Capture up to six Pokémon.
• Battle trainers.
• Become a Pokémon trainer, Team Flare grunt, or a youngster trainer.
• Collect items.
• Challenge the gym leaders.

Members can:

• Capture more than six Pokémon.
• Challenge the Elite Four and Champion.
• Become a Pokémon hunter, professor, or a gym leader.
• Create a gym in your igloo and open it for everyone to challenge you as a gym leader.
