Club Penguin Wiki

Well, this is it. Club Penguin is eight years old. The game was launched on October 24, 2005, after months of beta testing. Sad fact: this is the first Anniversary Party where Billybob is not on the team, and the first where Spike Hike is CEO. And now, the moment has arrived. Millions of fans from around the world have gathered to show their love for a great game. I mean, just look at the hashtag #CPAnniversary on Twitter! Truly a heartwarming sight. And now, we can all share this moment together. This was a mixed year in Club Penguin, but truly a memorable one. In October 2012, both Billybob and Happy77 confirmed their departures, leaving millions of disappointed fans. The Halloween Party was amazing, with the introduction of Gariwald. In November, the next big chapter of the Elite Penguin Force had finally begun. I think we can safely say that Operation: Blackout was definitely one of the best parties of the last year, if not one of the best parties of all time. And more importantly, the Director secret was finally revealed to us all. Then, in the New Year, the plague had arrived. The penguin designs. Most likely the worst update of 2013. The parties seemed a little lackluster. Prehistoric was okay. We got Rainbow Puffles finally (sharing colors with the 8th Anniversary Hat)! Card-Jitsu Snow was finally launched, so that was pretty great. Then we were pampered (or tortured, depending on your point of view) with three months worth of takeovers. After that wore off, we got a worse than average Medieval Party. And finally, the surprisingly great Halloween Party.

No matter how worse (or better) Club Penguin has gotten in the last year: one thing will never change: the community. We are strong as one, and when push comes to shove, I think Club Penguin will give us what we want in the end. Not only that, but we have somehow all learned to get along with eachother after these eight years. When I joined in March 2007, I had no clue how huge an effect Club Penguin would have on me. But it did. Club Penguin has shaped me into who I am, and the same can probably be said for all of you too. So let's remember this, and let's hope 2014 can be atleast a partially good year, maybe even a heck of a lot better than 2013! So grab your party hat at the Coffee Shop, and let's party! We'll be having an all day party on wiki chat, so join in! And if you want to celebrate on Club Penguin, the wiki will be hanging out on Sleet! Oh, and check out a special rainbow wiki theme, for October 24 only! Don't miss out on this chance to have some great fun, and to celebrate our favorite game that will hopefully be around for generations to come.

I asked some penguins their thoughts and memories from the last year.

Operation Blackout was fun. I liked seeing pookies in the snow crying. HAHAH!

This last year of Club Penguin hasn't been awful, but it definitely hasn't been Club Penguin's best. Sorry, but Club Penguin hasn't been 'at its best' since 2009.

Despite what I said in 2012, it wasn't a bad year for Club Penguin. Neither was 2013. 2013 had its ups and downs. There were some things we didn't like and some we did. So far the only party of 2013 that has stood out for me was the Card-Jitsu Party. Card-Jitsu Snow was probably the best thing 2013 brought us.

Don't even ask me, I want to forget this year. (This doesn't count October-December 2012.)

Well, Club Penguin was really spontaneous this year with parties. Although I would've liked to see older parties brought back, this year was very exciting and I'm sure there will be more exciting things to come.

My favorite party of 2013 is... Possibly the Teen Beach Movie Summer Jam and Marvel Superhero Takeover 2013

I would like to thank Billybob and Rsnail for creating such beautiful game. Thank you Spike Hike to be on work trying to make CP a better game. Thank you every mod who also makes the game awesome. I know you are kinda new on your CEO duty. Its been since 1 year that Billybob and Happy77 quit andd you took their place. Ignore Saraapril or other haters. You made a beautiful job. Thank you Spike Hike. I know you do mistakes sometimes, I know you can't try to make every kid happy, but you do your best. Thank you Mr. Hike. You did a great job. And specially thank you Billybob and Rsnail for creating this beautiful game we are playing right now

People always say, "OLD IS GOLD, NEW IS EWW!!!" Well, they're wrong. It should be, "OLD IS COLD, NEW IS TRUE!" Anyone who says that first one is just wasting their time complaining, and missing what's great about parties RIGHT NOW. I can't stop them from complaining, I'm just asking them, "Why waste your time asking for old CP, when you know it's not coming back? If you SERIOUSLY hate new CP, then quit. Because all of us penguins who like the new stuff, we're SICK of people complaining, and it's just a waste of time for them.
